Centro Aceros was founded in Colombia in 1987. it has evolved from a steel bar and wire manufacturer to an engineering and manufacturing company with three strategic unites:

* Agro industrial cable transport
* Elevation logistics.
Cable ways, together with packing station equipments and agro industrial processing plants, represents a very important line of cable transport unit, with a local and international presence in more than 20 countries around the world, serving the leader producers such as Chiquita, Del Monte, Dole, Uniban, Banacol, Compagnie frutière, Lapanday, and others.
We design, manufacture, install and service Cableway Systems to a wide range of agricultural sector. Our most important markets are bananas, oil palm and flowers, but they have been successfully and economically used in sectors such as fish farms, egg farms, papayas, oranges, coffee, plantain, shrimp farms, etc.
PRODUCTS
COLD DRAWN STEEL
Centro Aceros manufactures cold drawn steel bars in round, square, hexagonal and special shapes from 4.0mm to 52.00mm, in low carbon (SAE 1016 and 1020), medium carbon (SAE 1045) and free machining steel (SAE 12L14).
Our cold drawn steel bars are made to the highest standards in surface finish and straightness. We can offer special dimensions and lengths, at customer’s demand.
Centro Aceros supplies cut to length cold drawn steel bars that allow important savings in production costs.
CABLEWAYS
Cableways are integral transport solutions for agricultural products in low slope terrains. The most important benefits of centro aceros cableway systems are: adaptability and flexibility to all terrains, lowest operational and maintenance costs, better quality of transported products, guarantee of transport under any climatic or soil condition, addition of marginal productive area and non compacting of the agricultural soil. Centro aceros has successfully implemented its cableway systems in bananas, oil palm, flowers, coffee, fruits and intensive cattle and fish farming. This has allowed centro aceros to become world leader in cableway systems, a condition recognized by international producers. Centro aceros has a complete inventory of spare parts and a service structure to guarantee on time maintenance and repairs.
AERIAL GUYING
These systems are used in banana plantations to protect from falls due to strong winds, heavy stems or nematodes attack. Better quality of the stems due to fewer scars created in the field transport and the improvement in field labor permitted by clean and free plantation lines are additional benefits of Aerial Guying systems. It is important to note that Centro Aceros designs the Aerial Guying systems according to the unique specifications of each farm and relates it successfully to the Cableway system. Spare parts and maintenance structure are also available.
MOBILE CABLES
Mobile Cables are suitable for terrains of medium slopes (less than 45%), are easy to install, adapt to rugged terrains, have low operational and maintenance costs, quality of products is optimum and transportation is guaranteed under any climatic or soil condition. Centro Aceros has installed Mobile Cable systems successfully in Colombia because we have the equipment and professional staff that allow us to offer all the back up and support required by the customers. Spare parts and maintenance are also available to our customers. Mobile Cables are applicable to bananas, citrus fruits, avocado and, in general, to any agricultural product cultivated in high slopes
CABLE RAILWAY FOR AGRICULTURAL APPLICATIONS
Cable railways are used in terrains with slopes higher than 45% and are usually applied to cross creeks or high depressions, where crossing at level or different heights is necessary and many times are the only alternative available due to the high cost of building roads through mountains. A typical field of application is in coffee plantations, but they are suitable to any agricultural product.
Cable Railways are adaptable to the conditions of the ground, offering lower costs of operation and maintenance. Cable Railways guarantee transport independent of weather or ground conditions and can be loaded and unloaded automatically. This system has been applied successfully in the coffee sector and can be used in any agricultural product where road construction is costly due to the presence of mountains and rainy areas.
PACKING HOUSE STRUCTURES & PROCESS EQUIPMENT
Thanks to our experience in the agricultural sector, Centro Aceros designs, manufactures and installs complete lines of packing houses, including steel structures, roofing, gravity and motorized conveyors, roller and wheel type, scales, both for in line weight of stems and full trays and boxes, spray chambers, cranes, lifters, among others. We also design and manufacture auxiliary structures for composting, garages, storage buildings and other agro industrial structures. Finally, we carry a complete program of tools and accessories, such as knives, machetes, files, wheelbarrow, trays, handbarrows, transport carts, trolleys, spacers, meshes, etc
CRANES
Cranes are lifting systems used to lift and transport materials efficiently in defined spaces. Centro Aceros designs, manufactures and installs systems according to international standards and in line with customer needs and requirements, guaranteeing better performance, low maintenance costs, security and reliability of operation. In Centro Aceros we make EOT cranes, jib cranes, gantry and semi gantry cranes. Some of the benefits of these systems are optimizing space, high load capacity, precision and control in transport, greater security to employees and low costs of operation.
Some of the main crane components are: hoist, end carriages and all the electric and mechanical elements.
